TOMMY LEE Leaves Nebraska After Going-Away Bash
November 13, 2004Lincoln Journal Star is reporting that Tommy Lee has left the university. The former MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer packed his things and flew out of Lincoln Friday evening (Nov. 12),the final day of shooting for his NBC reality TV show.
Lee's departure came the day after he threw what has to be the largest "graduation" party in University of Nebraska-Lincoln history at the Rococo Theatre.
More than 600 people attended a free concert at the downtown Lincoln venue that was transformed into a dance club for the event. Lee and other DJs spun techno records for the crowd from a platform built on the stage by the show's set designers that was dominated by a red letter N in the center and flanked by a pair of "Blackshirts" flags.
The show also included the members of the drum line from Nebraska marching band with which Lee played at the Nebraska-Baylor football game.
The fact that Lee wasn't playing with a rock band disappointed some who came to the show.
"Man, this is lame," said Conrad Castaneda, a senior history major. "No rock 'n' roll. I thought I was gonna come see Tommy Lee play with a band." Read more.
